IconAnimal Crossing: New Horizons 3.0 — New and Returning Collaboration Villagers Guide

Amiibo Villager Interaction & Rewards

After scanning an amiibo, collaboration villagers follow the standard Animal Crossing amiibo recruitment workflow, with several important details:

1. Unlock the Campground

You must first have a Campsite established on your island through Resident Services. Without a Campsite, the villager will not appear.

2. Invite via Nook Stop

At the Nook Stop terminal, select "Invite camper" and scan the amiibo. The villager will immediately appear at your Campsite.

3. Complete Multiple Interactions

  • The visiting villager will request you to craft specific items.
  • You must complete three separate requests before the villager will agree to move in.
  • These visits do not need to occur on consecutive days.
  • You can have up to eight amiibo villager invites in progress at the same time.
  • Scanning a ninth amiibo will remove the earliest unfinished invite.

4. Invite to Move In

After completing the third request, you can invite the villager to become a permanent resident. Once moved in, they behave like any other island villager and may occasionally give daily tasks.

If you’re also looking to add other villagers to your island, you can explore our available ACNH villager options and choose characters ready to live on your island.

5.Rewards & Posters

  • Completing requests may reward DIY recipes.
  • Scanning amiibo also unlocks the villager's poster in Photopia (Harvey's Island) via the Nook Stop.
  • Collaboration villagers may also provide Zelda- or Splatoon-themed items, depending on the amiibo series used.

Flow Summary:

Establish Campsite → Scan amiibo → Villager visits → Complete three interactions → Invite to move in → Permanent resident → Daily tasks & rewards.

This guide reflects Nintendo's officially confirmed amiibo compatibility for Animal Crossing: New Horizons Version 3.0 and will be updated if additional supported amiibo are announced.
