ACNH Qixi 2026 Guide: Get the Orihime & Hikoboshi Outfits

Qixi Night falls on August 19, 2026, but waiting until that date to buy the Orihime and Hikoboshi Outfits can leave you with very little room for delivery time. Cowherd & Weaver Girl Day runs from August 10 through August 19, with both outfits available in Nook Shopping for 2,500 Bells each.

There is no special plaza ceremony or Isabelle cutscene for the event. Instead, you simply purchase the outfits from the Seasonal tab and wait for them to arrive in your mailbox. For players who want both outfits for Qixi photos, August 17 is a safer personal order-by date, while August 19 remains the final day of the seasonal window.

Why August 17 Beats August 19 on Your Calendar

The Cowherd & Weaver Girl Day items are available from August 10 through August 19 according to your island's date. The Nook Shopping schedule is the same in both hemispheres, so there is no separate Southern Hemisphere window.

Qixi itself falls on August 19, 2026. You can still place an order on August 18 and receive it after 5 AM on August 19, so you do not necessarily need the outfits in your inventory before Qixi Day.

Still, August 17 gives you a useful buffer. It leaves time for delivery and avoids making the final day of the event your only chance to buy.

• Pay 2,500 Bells for each outfit.
• Choose Place Order or send one as a gift to a Best Friend.
• Check your mailbox after 5 AM on the next island day.
• Reorder copies from your catalog while the Seasonal listing is still active.

Neither outfit is sold at Able Sisters. There is also no Nook Miles purchase option or DIY recipe.

Your first purchase adds the outfit to your catalog, but the important catch is that catalog reordering only works while the seasonal listing is available. Once the August event ends, you must wait for the items to return or get them from another player.

 

Orihime vs. Hikoboshi: Same Event, Two Looks

The Orihime and Hikoboshi Outfits are complete one-piece dress-up outfits rather than separate tops and bottoms. Both can be worn by player characters and used for seasonal island builds or themed screenshots.

Their designs reference the star-crossed lovers associated with Vega and Altair, connecting them to the traditional story behind Tanabata and Qixi.

You can also gift the outfits to villagers. They can wear gifted copies, although no villager normally appears wearing either outfit by default.

In Happy Home Paradise, the outfits become available for design use once the catalog is unlocked after completing the required vacation-home progression, including the 27th vacation home.

 

Fireworks Nights and Qixi Photos

August Fireworks Shows run every Sunday from 7 PM to midnight island time. In 2026, August 16 and August 23 are the two August fireworks dates closest to Qixi.

If you want a Qixi-themed photo session, the outfits work especially well with star-themed custom designs and fireworks around the plaza.

For a simple setup:

• Submit custom fireworks to Isabelle before 7 PM.

• Add star-themed custom paths or decorations around the plaza.

• Wear the Orihime or Hikoboshi Outfit for your photos.

• Send an extra copy to a Best Friend if they also want the seasonal look.

If your goal is the August 16 fireworks, order early enough for the outfits to arrive beforehand. If you are preparing specifically for Qixi on August 19, ordering by August 17 gives you a more comfortable buffer.

 

August's Seasonal Tab Gets Crowded

August Nook Shopping includes several different seasonal windows, which can make the month's items easy to mix up.

The July Tanabata items are not the same as the Orihime and Hikoboshi Outfits. If someone says they bought a Tanabata item in July, they are referring to a different seasonal listing.

The two Qixi outfits cost 5,000 Bells combined. If you also plan to buy Obon decorations or Redd raffle tickets during the fireworks, keep those expenses separate.
